![]() When you have a backup, then remove your primary XP drive, and configure the old system drive as the new primary boot disc.įor backup purposes, I also highly recommend Acronis True Image Workstation. Then make a complete backup copy of the old system's drive (to a new folder that is completely isolated from the XP operating system files). ![]() Then boot into XP from your new system's current primary drive. NOTE: If you do plan to try this, I would highly recommend that you first install the old drive as a secondary (or slave) drive. There will be a few driver issues, but if you can smooth those out you may be able to pick up where you left off so to speak. You might also consider plunking the old drive into your new system to see if you can boot from it. Sony Creative Software - Download: Updates: Sound Forge Might be worth the hour or so that this would burn. ![]() The fact that you have licensed SF9 may allow you to receive a key for older versions of the software, but you would probably have to speak to someone to explain your unique circumstances. You can download SF8 from Sony's support site. I'm hoping someone here might have encountered a similar situation.Īudio Interface: (PCI) Digital Audio Labs CDX-01 CardDeluxe I've tried to Google to see if other people have the same problems but no luck. The old machine was quite old, but it played back everything flawlessly - unfortunately it "died" twice on us so we had to replace it. The problems started after the new computer was installed. I have to say that I recently installed a new computer in the studio, an Intel PC running Windows XP and upgraded from Sony Sound Forge 8 to Sony Sound Forge Audio Studio 9. This does not happen with all mp3's which leads me to think that it is an encoding issue - but I can't obviously go through 20k files and re-encode the problematic ones. This is no fun thing to happen during a live broadcast. I'm kind of desperate here, working at a public radio station, using Sony Sound Forge 9 to playback songs in mp3 format from a library of over 20,000 files and I get audio glitches, drop outs and sometimes no audio at all.
